Road safety is crucially important and children are taught this throughout the school.
At Richmond Hill School we go on LOTS of trips out and about in the community which gives us great opportunity to practice road safety.
Many classes go on daily power walks and some go on weekly power walks around the local neighborhood - another invaluable opportunity for us to teach road safety and for the children to become more independent and responsible for themselves.
TIP: When out and about please STOP, LOOK and LISTEN at EVERY road you cross. Your child is watching YOU...so model to them what you want them to do.
TIP: Get your child to 'be in charge' and tell you when it is safe to cross.
TREAT EVERY ROAD CROSSING AS A TEACHING OPPORTUNITY!!!
