Sensory circuits, Swimming and P.E

John is in charge of all our P.E in the school and makes great use of all our specialised sports equipment.

Spring 2

This term we will be focusing on dance.


Years 1&2 will be doing wiggly woo and  bean bag rock.

Years 3,4,5 and 6 will be dancing through the decades, starting with the twist leading up to present day street dance, funk/hip hop. Move over Ashley  Banjo here comes RHS street crew.

Bean Bag Rock


Next term there are some fantastic things to look forward to. John will be doing some 'How to' lessons concentrating on technique and body movements which are needed to play, football, quoite hockey, tennis and badminton.


There will also be some dance and gym lessons. In both these areas the children will experience a different range of dances and body movements, helping to build co-ordination and muscle strength.


Later on in the year John will focus on athletics which will cover, running, jumping and throwing. We have some child friendly versions of discus, shot put, javelin and the hammer!

Sports Funding 2015 – 2016

We received £8,558

This allocation has been spent on new trampettes for use in the daily Sensory Circuits Sessions and some additional ones for individual classes.

We have daily power walks for classes and have provided specialist coats and boots. To ensure safety we have additional TA support in the classes.

We have laid artificial grass to an activity area that has enabled it to have all year use.



PE Additional Funding 2014-2015


We received £8,515 from central Government funding which has to be targeted at sport and PE.

This has been used to provide additional and new bikes and tricycles for use on the small playground.


We have employed an additional Teaching Assistant to assist with the early morning Sensory Circuits and to take individuals for sessions on the sunken trampoline throughout the day.


The sensory circuits programme has had additional and new equipment to enable the full range of zones to help with, alerting, calming, relaxing.



We have purchased more outdoor playsuits so that all children can access the outside environment, for play activities, sport or power walks in the park
