The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
What is Eco-Schools?
Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging 19.5 million children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet.
For nearly 25 years Eco-Schools has been empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness through the simple Seven-Step framework in order to achieve the international Eco-Schools Green Flag award.
Eco-Schools develops pupils’ skills, raises environmental awareness, improves the school environment and creates financial savings for schools as well as a whole host of other benefits.
Our Eco School Journey
We began our Eco School journey in 2010 when we developed the school garden.
We achieved the Bronze Award upon completion of the garden and with our continued recycling endeavours across the school we received the accredited Silver Award in 2013. We were delighted to be awarded the Green Flag (the highest accolade) in 2015 which we fly in our playground with pride.
In November 2019 we were inspected by Eco-Schools and were delighted to retain our status. To celebrate we raised a brand new flag.....see pictures below.
