Summer 2

Pirates!

This term we have been having lots of fun exploring being a Pirate. We have used the role play room to dress up, made lots of different pirate crafts and have enjoyed reading our Literacy book Mrs Pirate.

Summer 1

 

Animal Ark Experience 

We had great fun meeting lots of different animals including Rabbits, Tortoises, Guinea Pigs & Owls.

Dance & Wiggle

We dressed in bright colours and danced our socks for Dance & Wiggle Day!

PSHE

In PSHE, we have been learning to brush our teeth.

Science

In Science, we have been exploring the life cycle of a frog.

Topic Work

In Topic, we have been making fork flowers and creating a frog using a paper plate, googly eyes and paint. 

Sensory science - Dyed pasta help to tell the life cycle story of the butterfly.

SAFETY WEEK Learning how to cross the road safely with a lollipop person to help us.

Autumn 2

Peacock Class Update

Over the past few weeks we have been very busy in Peacock class doing lots of exciting things such as: Learning about big and small in maths, dressing up for children in need, trying lots of different coloured foods, as well as many more fun activities. 

Take a look at some pictures to see what we have been up to. 

Over the past term we have all enjoyed getting to know our classmates, we are looking forward to

spending another term together learning and having fun.

 

This half term our topic is over the rainbow. We will be looking at lots of different colours as well as

experimenting with colour mixing.

We will all be turning into artist this term creating lots of colourful master pieces.

 

In literacy we are focusing on the traditional tale of Cinderella. We will be using our magic powers to continue to improve and develop our fine motor and writing skills.

 

This half term in cookery we will be looking at lots of different breads. We will be making some

delicious homemade bread each week and sampling our products.

 

This half term we will be going on a Christmas themed trip and spending some more time with our

buddy class over at west site.

Autumn 1

Welcome to Peacock Class. My name is Rebecca and I am the class teacher, working with me is Margaret my TA2. In Peacock Class we have three teaching assistants called Michelle, Carla and Rosa. We have six children in Peacock Class called: Eliza, Khadijah, Mustafa B, Mustafa M, Shumyal and Idrees.

 

During the Autumn Term we are focusing on our topic ‘Champions’. Over this term we will be looking at the following things:

Week One- Naming body parts

Week Two- Personal Safety

Week Three- Sport Week

Week Four- Healthy Eating

Week Five- Sport

Week Six- Hygiene

Week Seven- Making a Fitness DVD

 

In maths we will be covering various strands such as number and geometry. During these lessons we will be looking at writing and saying our numbers, counting objects and linking to our topic where possible such as counting our body parts. In Literacy we are focusing on the book ‘Funny Bones’ the children will be using listening skills to be able to recall parts of the story as well as practicing our writing.
