Welcome to Parrot Class

Hello and welcome back to school. My name is Kimberley and I am the class teacher for Parrot class this year. We have 1 TA 3 who is Elaine and 2 TA's Sharon and Annie.  There are 3 boys and 3 girls in Parrot Class and they are all settling in very well. Our topic this half term is 'All about me' as set out in our recovery curriculum to support the children settling back into school life.

We will be exploring a variety of topics such as hygiene, our bodies and faces, emotions, our senses, physical and building relationships. This is outlined briefly in our curriculum map. This week we have been focusing on hygiene and the importance of washing our hands and teeth.

We have 2 books this half term. For the first 4 weeks we will be exploring The Very Hungry Caterpillar and learning a little about the lifecycle of a caterpillar. The next 4 weeks we will be exploring Silly Suzy Goose and learning about the different animals within the story.

If you want to continue your pupils learning at home you could focus activities on our topic ‘all about me’. Activities could include naming and identifying different family members. You could also focus on ‘my body’ and point to and name different body parts.

Here are some links you can use from home to extend learning and exploring.
