At Richmond Hill we grow independence, build communication and believe you can achieve your personal goals.

Spring 2

This half term Silver class will be studying the Literacy book The Princess and the Pea and we will be participating in writing, listening, speaking and reading activities linked to this text.  

 

We are planning a trip to Stock wood park transport museum and the castle playground in Stopsley linked to our Topic Kings and Queens.   During Topic we will be looking at different castles and making some out of junk modelling, we will be making crowns, royal jewellery and finishing the Topic off with a Royal Banquet.

 

Each week in Maths we will be looking at a different area such as Number, Geometry and Measurement.

In Science we will be looking at electricity and what needs electricity in the home and school.  In PSHE we will be looking at safety in the home and personal safety.

As we approach the Easter holidays we will be participating in fun Easter activities and hope to have an Easter egg hunt outside and our annual egg jarping competition.

Computing activities

Spring 1 

This half term Silver class will be studying the Literacy book The Tiger who came to tea.  The children 

will be participating in writing, reading, speaking and listening activities related to this book.

Topic this half term is Come dine with me and we will be participating in Cooking, ICT and creative tasks related to a different place each week.  The countries are England, Italy, India, The Caribbean and America.  Silver class will be visiting Pizza Express January and will have the opportunity to create their own pizza.  We will be taking lots of pictures and posting them on the website.  We are going to finish the Topic by having a food market in the hall celebrating all of the different places we have looked at during this Topic.

Autumn 2

This half term Silver class will be studying the Literacy book The Rainbow fish.  The children will be participating in writing, crafts, cooking and ICT activities related to the Literacy book.

 

Topic this half term is over the Rainbow and the children will be looking at one colour each week and participating in activities linked to that particular colour.  For example dressing in that colour, crafts linked to the colour, tasting food that colour and assemblies linked to the colour.

 

As Christmas approaches we will be studying the book A Christmas Carol and hope to have a trip out to a local garden centre to have a look at some Christmas lights.

Autumn 1

Welcome to Silver class I am Colette the classroom teacher and I am supported by Shirley, Vicki, Lianne and Sam.  The children in Silver class are Chloe B, Chloe C, Eshal, Irfan, Nabiha, Oli, Reyu, Subhaan and Zoya.

 

This half term the children are studying the Literacy book Supertato by Sue Hendra.

 

The children will be participating in lots of different activities related to the Literacy book and have already added lots of lovely writing and ICT work to their working display board.  All of the children have contributed to this board.

 

Topic is Champions and the children start every day with a power walk and every afternoon with an exercise video.  The children are learning about exercise, hygiene, healthy foods and our five senses.  As part of this Topic we are hoping to have a trip to Ashridge woods.
