Easter Activities

Here are 14 Easter themed activities we have selected which we think would be lots of fun during the holidays - children can do as many (or little) as they like. Maybe even one a day?

Rebecca

Animal Boogie Song

Here is a link to the Animal Boogie song the book we have been studying this half term.  Please share this with your child before completing the worksheets provided in your homework pack.

Dough Disco

At school the children regularly take part in dough disco to help develop their finger strength and fine motor skills. Here are some videos you can try with your child. These could be done once a day as repetition is great!

Here is a handy no-cook playdough recipe that you can make at home. You could also get your child involved in making it with you!

Best Ever No-Cook Play Dough Recipe – Simply mix then kneed all the ingredients together

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (baby oil and coconut oil work too)
  • 1/2 cup salt.
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar.
  • 1 to 1.5 cups boiling water (adding in increments until it feels just right)
  • food colouring (optional)

Good morning Swan Class

Hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy the sunshine last week. Hopefully you have all started to use your class packs now or have been busy working on other things and getting outdoors. A couple more ideas you may want to try.

Lots of people are putting a picture of a rainbow or a teddy bear in their window at home then going for a walk for their daily exercise to see how many rainbows or bears they can find. Could you create a rainbow and put a bear in your window?

We are all missing getting out of the house but why not take a look at the link below, I know you all love animals so the link below takes you to Chester Zoo who are doing live videos of their animals currently.

If you wanted to try some maths games the top marks website has lots of different games over all areas of maths, why not try some different ones and see how you get on.

For any further information or help you can contact me on the class email which is swan@richmondhill.luton.sch.uk
I will be checking this daily.

Swan Class Update

We have had a very busy term in Swan Class. We have been exploring many different countries in the world and all the different food they eat. We especially enjoyed Italian week when we visited Pizza Hut. We made our own pizza and got some ice cream. We have also been doing lots of work around the book tiger who came to tea! We have practiced our writing skills, following instructions and reading the story to each other. We even poured our own tea and made sandwiches for the tiger!

Please find below our curriculum map for this term.

Autumn 1

Hello and welcome to Swan Class

My name is Rebecca and I am the class teacher. Working alongside me we have Hannah, Micha and Tracey. In Swan class we have 10 children made up of 2 girls and 8 boys. We are all very excited to be working together and seeing what exciting things we will be getting up to this year!

During Autumn 1 we will be focusing on the topic Get ready, Stay safe, Be healthy. In this topic we will be focusing on lots of different ways to keep healthy while engaging in exercise and looking at healthy eating. Our story for this term is Titch by Pat Hutchins, we will be doing lots of different work surrounding this story including writing and using colourful semantics.

Swan Class PE days are a Tuesday and Wednesday so be sure to have your PE kit with you.
