Every week we will be working with the children to create their own newspaper. This will be edited by the children with our support. The Orange Oracle can be accessed every week here on our class page. This is your chance to share and enjoy with your children their snapshot from every week in class. You can access this below.

Hello and welcome to Orange class!
Our team consists of:
Siobhan - teacher
Shirley - TA2
Janice, Monika and Tina - TA1
We are delighted to be looking after and working with your children all of whom are settling in well to their new surroundings here at West and are excited for the academic year ahead.
Our topic this half term is What a load of Junk! The children will be learning what some different materials are called and also about their properties and uses; they will also experience a variety of ways of caring for their environment such as recycling, saving electricity and litter picking.
The book we will be looking at in detail is called ‘Whistle for Willie’ it is about a boy called Peter who wants to learn to whistle so he can call his dog Willie. Peter tries so hard to whistle that his cheeks hurt, but he doesn’t give up…. PHSE links will be made eg. looking after pets, to keep trying even when things are difficult at first.
On Monday mornings we will discuss our weekend news, could you please use your Home School book to jot down something your child did that we can talk about.
We aim to hear your child read during the week and if books are finished will change them on a Tuesday, please share books at home with your child.
PE lessons are on Thursday.
During the course of the year Orange Class will also be following the progress of our local football team LUTON TOWN! Nathan the bear will be reporting on how they are getting on.
I look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher very soon.
