Our Garden!
Wed 22 Jan 2014This half term our gardener Vikki has been growing peas with the children. These are being grown in recycled plastic cups from the staff room and empty toilet rolls from the staff toilets. This helps us to maintain our eco schools targets, making us eco-friendly! The pea seeds are grown inside the toilet rolls so that when they are planted, their roots are not disturbed, because the peas don’t like this! Not only are the peas healthy, they taste great!
Other breaking news this week following the making of bird feeders some of the children spotted a very rare long tailed tit feeding in the playground!!!

Topic Work This Term
Tue 07 Jan 2014Lots of exciting things to do this term especially in our topic work.
For years 1 & 2 their topic is 'What a performance!' this will involve lots of dressing up, music and art. The books being looked at for this topic include, 'Where The Wild Things Are' and 'It's The Bear'.
For years 3 & 4 their topic is 'Cafes'. They will be turning the music room into a cafe to do some role play activities. This is always a fun topic as it involves lots of eating and trying new food.
For years 5 & 6 their topic is 'Talking textures' this will give the children a chance to experience and explore materials.
