Hello everyone!  Welcome back after half term.  I hope that you had a lovely and restful break.

Today we had a Halloween Assembly learning about the traditions of Halloween both old and new.  One teacher dressed up as a Witch! In our fine motor skills we tried to scoop out Pumpkins!  This was all lots of fun.

This term our topic is ‘Over the Rainbow’

In this topic we will be learning lots about colours, primary and secondary colours, shading and how to mix different colours.  We will focus on a different colour each week.

Our book this half term is ‘Cinderella’.

We will  be looking at different versions each week, the traditional fairy tale and more modern versions.

We will be looking at book versions and online stories.  We will even be looking at versions from different cultures.

There is a really funny version to watch here which the class watched today.

In English this year, we have Phonics 3 times a week, a weekly handwriting lesson, and studying the book ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’.

We hope to have trips linked to our topic which include going to St Albans outdoor gym and a visit to The ‘Fun Factory’ in Luton soft play centre. Finally we are walking to Asda every Friday to buy a snack. This will improve our maths skills along with social skills and developing links within the community.
