Summer Fete

We were very busy in Woodpecker class baking and decorating lots of delicious cakes and biscuits for our School Summer Fete!

Other Celebrations

We have had fun celebrating special days like Dance and Wiggle! We danced all the way to and back from Asda , during the day and during our disco in the afternoon. 

Literacy

During literacy lessons we have enjoyed listening to and learning about our literacy story Jasper`s Beanstalk. We planted our own magical beanstalks and learnt all about the days of the week.

Topic

In topic we have been tasting lots of different fruits and vegetables. We have also created our own wonderful pieces of art inspired by different fruits and vegetables.

Autumn 2

Gulliver Land Trip

Buddy Class

We were very lucky that our Buddy Class came to visit us. They are in Year 6. We had a lovely play time together and we shared a pizza. 

 

Scarecrow

Woodpecker class voted to make Sponge-bob Square pants for our Harvest Scarecrow competition. We really enjoyed making him and we got yellow paint everywhere!

Topic

A fire spread across our Lego city so we had to be firefighters and put the fire out as quickly as we could.

Literacy

Our new Literacy Story is The Gingerbread man. We made our own Gingerbread men and ate them all up before they ran away!

Autumn 1

Hello and welcome back to another school year, my name is Áine and I am the class teacher in Woodpecker. Jaimi is our class TA2 and Marie and Beena are our class teaching assistants.

 

The pupils in Woodpecker class are: Abdulrahman, Alfie, Dillon, Malin, Musab, Veronica and Zahra. This week we made our own Woodpeckers!  Have a look at the photo below!

Our topic this half term is `People who help us ` we will be learning all about lots of different people who help us in our everyday lives such as the emergency services. Image result for people who help us

Our book in English is Oliver`s Vegetables by Alison Bartlett and Vivian French. The children have already started learning about which vegetables Oliver finds in his granddad`s garden and have even tasted some!
