Spring 1

Topic

Our topic is all about textures. We explored different materials to touch and feel. Some were soft and furry, others were sticky or bumpy.

Pass the Jam, Jim

This term we have started reading the book "Pass the jam, Jim". It is about a baby who makes a mess with the jam. We played with the doll and the jam just like in the story.

Please find below our curriculum map for this term.

Autumn 2

Silver Class Update

Silver class have had a busy half term. We have been matching coins and buying things at the class shop. We also spent money at Winter wonderland in the hall and some pupils visited Santa.

We decorated a shoe box and put toys in it for children who do not always have toys to play with in other countries.

We have enjoyed our English sessions reading the Cinderella story and acting out some of the jobs she had to do eg sweeping the floor!!

In Computing we learnt how to use colour-fill for pictures.

Please take a look at our curriculum map below. This will give you a brief overview of what we will be up to this half term.

Autumn 1

Photo Recap Autumn 1

Silver class has had a busy first half term. In cookery, we have been making burgers and chopping salad. In Maths we have been counting out amounts, particularly making groups of 3. In English we have enjoyed our book "Waiting for the bus!" Pupils acted out parts of the story like eating strawberries and jumping in the water. We also enjoyed our topic "Go wild", finding out about different animals and where they live.

English

In Silver class we have 7 children with 5 adults: Sheila (teacher), Deirdre (TA3), Lorraine (TA), Sandra (TA) and a floating TA. Hannah (HLTA) leads the class on Thursdays and Fridays. This week we have already explored the arctic, woodland, jungle and the ocean by going into different Yr 5 classes as an introduction to our topic “Go wild”! We have also enjoyed our  PE session playing hockey with a quoit on Tuesdays.  In Maths we have been putting objects and pictures in groups of 1 or 2 and practising rote counting to 10. In English we are familiarising ourselves with the story "Where`s the bus?" and have made a scene from the book on a large tray eg sticking a road, grass (with strawberries) and a pond.

Abdi has been voted in as our class council voice! We look forward to showing you photos of our activities over the year.
