  • Morning Routines

    Thu 19 May 2016

Each class starts the day with some form of movement and exercise. The theory behind this is that after a burst of exercise the children should find it easier to concentrate and focus on the day ahead.

A number of classes take part in a 'power walk' around the local park.

The classes that do not go on the walks will do some RHS adapted 'brain gym' type activities in class, which involves making big intentional movements.

The remaining classes take part in 'sensory circuits' in the hall to get their early morning exercise.

We have been doing this daily for a number of years and believe it is of real benefit to the children.

Below is the park we power walk through.

The children and young adults had been rehearsing for weeks and today they came together to deliver what was an amazing show.
